Shipping containers habilitation for emergency houses in Barcelona

 

The main objective of this project is to recycle an existing lot of shipping containers in Barcelona´s port in order to transform them on emergency houses which will be powered with renewable energy, making them self-sufficient, and at the same time creating homes that achieves the basic human comfort.

The master plan includes green areas that will have a rainwater recollection system.

Passive techniques:

Between the exterior and interior walls there will be incorporated a transition space with the objectives of regulating solar radiation, natural illumination, thermal insulation and the house ventilation.

Active techniques:

The houses will be provided with photovoltaic panels for the generation of the electrical energy which powers them.

Cogeneration

Hot water needs: 202,400 kcal/día

Heating needs: 157.322 kw

Grey water recycling and rainwater harvesting.
